1,2,3 ... Hi Baby! is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to reducing the incidence of infant mortality in the Indian people of the Pine Ridge Reservation by providing services and education regarding healthy lifestyles, healthy pregnancies, healthy children and families, and positive parenting to the entire family.

The infant mortality rate for the Pine Ridge Reservation is among the highest in the United States. Prenatal care is an essential aid in the prevention of infant mortality yet less than fifty percent of women who deliver at Pine Ridge hospital receive the World Health Organization recommended minimum of four prenatal visits. Other challenges Pine Ridge residents are faced with daily are: approximately an 80% unemployment rate, severe housing shortage, transportation shortage, about a 65% high school drop out rate, and prevalent health problems (heart disease and diabetes) with limited access to medical care and treatment.

The Need is Desperate! The Time is NOW!

The coordinators of 1,2,3 ... Hi Baby! have asked us to assist in raising enough money for them to replace their unreliable vehicle which is being used to transport the moms and babies to their medical appointments, pick up and deliver any supplies the clients of 1,2,3 ... Hi Baby! may need, such as clothing, baby food, diapers, etc. The reservation is approximately 2 million acres and their clients are spread out over this vast area. Although 1,2,3 ... Hi Baby! has been able to handle general maintenance and minor repairs on the vehicle, the extensive miles driven on the reservation's poorly maintained roads, and wear and tear have taken their toll, rendering it an unreliable means of transportation. Without a reliable means of transportation, the families serviced by the 1,2,3 ... Hi Baby! program may have to do without.

Viggo-Works wholeheartedly supports this effort and we are committed to reaching the goal of $50,000 by October 20, 2008.
