Took a couple videos of my dogs this week. In the first one, you can see how Annie likes to enjoy the wind. She was standing up, facing the wind, letting it blow her ears back...but as soon as I got the camera ready, she laid down. lol She stayed out there for hours. :)
The second video is how excited my dogs get when you mention a walk. They love going on walks (mostly because they love trying to eat our neighbors *sigh*).
Since my dogs were so excited by all the kids knocking on our door tonight, we decided to give them some treats too. They got bone marrow (they love it!). For some reason, they both just started sneezing like crazy until they got a treat...it was their trick! hehe So, we recorded it. They didn't sneeze as much in the videos, but still major cuteness was to be found! :D
Yesterday was a beautiful day and Annie and Angel wanted to stay outside all day. Angel always goes out the front door, because the stairs are much less steep (Angel has really bad knees and joints). Annie always goes out the back door and lays in the grass. She just loves it. The longer the grass the better...which is silly because she gets really bad allergies and the longer the grass, the worse the allergies. But, oh well. :)
I couldn't get them to come in at all, so I went out and took some pictures of them hanging out in the breeze. Got a few really good shots.
For the past week or so, I've been hearing jackhammers in my neighborhood, but I didn't go investigate. Today, they were going again, but much closer, so I checked. Turns out, the community I live in is replacing all the driveways (they did the garages last year). It's funny, they aren't really that good at informing us of these things. They usually show up the day before and say, yeah, were gonna completely take over your driveway and lawn for a few days...starting tomorrow.
*sigh* My dogs are ok with the jackhammers, but when they start dumping the concrete into the dump truck...that's when they get nervous. :)
I took a bunch of videos today with my phone. They aren't the best videos, but you get the idea. :)
Thursday Thunk
Welcome to the Thursday Thunks! Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will think about:
Pick somebody and tell us about them.
I think I'd like to talk about my neighbor cat. LOL
My neighbor cat is a black and white short hair. Not sure what it's name is, or if it's a he or a she. I'm guessing a she, because it's pretty clever and girls are more clever. *SNAP!* Oh, just kidding guys!
Ok, so this kitty, we will name her Cami, since she has a cameo-like coat. Cami is a house cat. I have never seen Cami outside of the house. But, she's got a window she loves to sit in....the window directly across from my front door (which is actually a side door). My driveway separates our houses. So, Cami has broken a little hole into the blinds on that window, so she can crawl through and sit on the window sill and watch the world. Now, the hole in the mini blinds is clever, yes...but that's not the most clever thing. See, she knows my dogs hang out in our yard, between my door and Cami's house...but they can't reach the window. So, she just sits there and stares at them and makes them bark and bark and bark. Cami seems to enjoy this. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I think Cami is playing with my dogs. Sometimes my dogs will just bark at the empty window and when I look over there, the blinds will move ever so slightly. Then, after a while, Cami will hop into the window and sit proudly while my dogs bark some more. And then, Cami will leave the window and my dogs will get a good stern talking too. ;)
But, it always happens again. :) What I think is hilarious is that my dogs act tough, but they would run their furry little butts down that road, in the other direction, if that cat ever came outside. They are SUCH whimps!
I remember when they were puppies and the people who lived across the street at the time had a large black lab named Shadow. Shadow was very friendly and he liked to just wander over and say hello. He jumped in my car a few times, wanting to go to work with me. LOL Well, that first day my pups were outside and Shadow was too. Oh my. Shadow came bounding across the road...tail wagging and I tell you...I have never heard dogs scream. I mean SCREAM. It wasn't a bark or a whine, it was a terrified scream. Annie ended up underneath a bush against the house, where I had the hardest time getting ahold of her. Angel was under the car, dead center. I had to crawl under to get her. Poor Shadow. He just wanted to make a friend. Over the years, Shadow and Angel got more friendly, but Annie is terrified of everything and everyone. That's just my Annie. ;)
So, I guess my story is about more than just Cami the Cat...lol, but that's ok. :D
I should add though, that even though I called my dogs whimps...that is when it comes to meeting new people or animals. If it comes down to someone trying to touch ME...they are on full "terminator" mode. Vicious!!! Don't mess with their momma. ;)
My dogs get very excited when we come home from being away. My mom was getting home from work today and I recorded it. Annie has separation anxiety, so she goes kinda crazy (she was actually pretty tame today, compared to other days!), but Angel is a lot calmer. She just wiggles her butt and waits for the love. :)
Here are the girls, waiting rather impatiently, looking out the door and down the street. :) Annie likes to stand on the couch for a good vantage point. ;) Angel likes to sit at the door and watch.
I had a dream two nights ago. Actually, it was the dream that woke me up early Saturday morning. It was one of those vivid dreams, that you remember pretty clearly. I had another odd dream last night, but I don't remember it.
I should warn you, there are some disturbing images involving the injury of animals...so if that bothers you, you might not want to read further.
During this dream, I was at some sort of petting zoo type place, but it was more like someone's ratty backyard and a bunch of fenced in areas. It was normal 4-foot, chain link fence - nothing special. All of the areas were connected. I was standing (with some others, I don't know who) at the edge of the fence surrounding a large open area with no structures. There was a small goat and a large baboon playing in the area. The baboon was wearing a jean jacket. (LOL)
I guess the goat got tired of playing with the baboon, or the baboon was getting too rough...but regardless, the goat jumped the fence into the next pen. Suddenly, I was at that fence now, looking in to where the goat had gone. There was a large 6 lane busy road just on the other side of the fence too. The pen that the goat had jumped into had a large structure that looked like a human sized dog house. Within seconds a large angry bull came charging out of the 'dog house' and started chasing the goat. Of course, he just plowed through the fence and the goat and the bull were in the middle of the traffic, running toward the other side of the road. They managed to make it to the other side, but the goat had gotten tripped up and the bull had caught up with him. The bull was beginning to attack the goat. Everyone was calling out for help, for someone who had the ability to try and restrain the bull and save the goat.
Before anyone ran to the rescue though, I noticed that MY DOG was in the mix. Somehow, Annie had ended up between the goat and the bull and was about to be trampled. Annie got very scared and cowered. There was a fence behind her, a goat one one side, a bull on the other, and traffic in front of her. She didn't know where to go. Quickly, the bull had her flying through the air when he used his horns to try and stab her. She landed on top of the goat and there was blood everywhere. For some reason the bull wasn't paying attention to the goat anymore, but instead was trying to bite Annie's ears and face. This all happened in about two seconds.
I immediately jumped the fence and ran across the traffic. Not sure how I did it, but I made it ok. The bull was so focused on Annie, he didn't see me coming. I used my hands to beat the bull on his eyes, so he was injured and could not see me. I grabbed Annie and pushed the goat, so he'd run away. The goat did run away. I ran with Annie down the grassy area, the only escape I had was to jump the fence, which on this side was very high fencing that could not be jumped. My other escape was to run through traffic, which was very busy. I noticed there was a MACK truck coming very fast and when I saw the bull was chasing us, I ran in front of the MACK truck and cleared it just in time to get hit by a car in the next lane. I rolled on the hood of the car, holding Annie tight to my chest. We were ok, and the bull had been hit by the MACK truck. It stopped the bull and destroyed the truck, but no one got killed.
And then I woke up.
Why did I dream that???!!!! I've been having a lot of dreams about my dog getting hurt or dying and it's really bothering me. Why am I thinking these things?
I'm wondering if it's because she has bad allergies and has been wheezing while sleeping. Every year during this time of year, she gets bad allergies that affect her paws, which get raw and itchy and painful. She's going through that now. :( And I just discovered the other day that she's got a bump on her belly that I think might be a hernia. :( She also is due for her shots and I have no money! I'll have to call the doctor and see if they will let me pay later. Am I just worried about her health and its manifesting in my dreams?
