1. What single food on the Thanksgiving dinner menu did you most look forward to?
It's kind of the mix of them all. I eat all the dishes throughout the year, but the combination of them is the treat. But, maybe the marshmallow fruit salad is the one dish I only have at holidays. Good stuff! :)
2. What single food was your least favorite?
I'm not a fan of Ham, so I don't eat that. I also don't like Scalloped Corn...and my mother always has to have that. I like corn...love it actually...but it's not so great scalloped. LOL
3. How many plates of food did you eat? Did you take the big nap afterwards?
I had 4 separate Thanksgiving dinners and leftovers from 3 of them. I did not nap, but I ate A LOT. LOL
4. Take the quiz: What holiday food are you?
5. What dessert item did you most enjoy from the big feast? Who made it?
The marshmallow fruit salad...even though we actually eat that during dinner. Grandma made it, of course! :) Well, aunt Donna made it too, at one of the other dinners. I need to get that recipe. :)
6. How many meals of leftovers did you bring home?
I had maybe 5 leftover meals? Seriously, I ate turkey dinner for every meal for about 4 days straight. It was awesome. :D
1. How long do you sleep each night?
2. Do you fall asleep easily?Anywhere from 4 hours to 9. lol I have found that I need 8.5 hours to be fully functional. No more, no less. It used to be that I only needed 5 or 6. Such it is...getting older. ;)
3. Do you fall asleep at times not in your bed?No. It takes me hours to fall asleep. Unless I'm just dead tired...but that doesn't happen very often.
4. Do you listen to music or use “white noise” to sleep? Not really. Every now and then, I can nap on the couch...but usually, no. Usually, I'll just go to my bed if I'm that tired.
5. Do you sleep through the night or get up a couple of times?I listen to music and I have a fan on. I can sleep without either, but I like to have them on.
6. Do you have trouble sleeping away from your own bed?Usually I wake up. It's not very often that I sleep continuously. But, I don't usually get out of bed...I just try to fall back asleep. I got through periods of insomnia sometimes too, which is awful.
7. Do you need an alarm clock to get you up?Yes. I can usually get to sleep for a little while, but it's not a good rest.
8. Do you ever take medication to help you sleep?I set one, but I usually wake up before it.
9. Do you/have you slept with pets? No. I just don't like the idea of that. I sleep better when I'm on a schedule and I eat right. I just need to stay on top of those things.
Sure. My dogs sleep with my sometimes, but they actually prefer to be in the living room. It's their choice. I think they like to be able to watch the front door and all the bedrooms while they rest...guard doggies. ;) But, if it's storming, they are with me. No doubt. And they cuddle as closely as possible. Those are nights when it's difficult to get comfortable. lol
Meme Express
Famed fantasy writers Madeleine L’Engle (A Wrinkle in Time) and C.S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia) were both born on this date. Madeleine L’Engle was born in 1918, and C.S. Lewis was born in 1898.
Today, the Meme Express prompt is simple: “fantasy.” Here are a few optional questions, to get you started.
Have you read any of Madeleine L’Engle’s books?
Which is your favorite?Yes. I read A Wrinkle in Time (the whole series), when I was younger. It's been awhile. I should read them again. :)
Have you read any of C.S. Lewis’ books?I really couldn't say...I honestly can't remember the stories clearly enough. I remember I liked the series a lot though.
Which is your favorite?Yes, Narnia, of course..and a few others. I like his stories.
Do you like fantasy fiction?Mere Christianity perhaps. But, it's been so long since I read Narnia, I couldn't say what my favorite book was out of the set.
Are you a science fiction fan?Very much.
What is your favorite genre of book?Yes, I like a lot of it
I like adventures. Not necessarily the Adventure genre..but adventures within. Journeys...quests. Fantasy, Sci Fi, Adventure. Books like the Road and Moby Dick (my two favorites) are also journey books...the journey is more within (even though there is a physical journey/adventure as well)...and I love those psychological journeys too. :)
1. What’s the last movie you watched in the theater?
Appaloosa with Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen. Good movie! :)
2. How much is absolutely too much to pay for seeing a movie in a theater at night?
8 bucks is too much. I go to matinées because they are cheaper.
3. Other than popcorn and a drink, what concession item are you most likely to buy in a movie theater?
I don't buy concession items at all.
4. Take the quiz: In What Genre Should You Be A Movie Star?
Well dang. I can't take the quiz because the links are all messed up on that site today. I'm guessing it would tell me to be in some Period Drama though. lol
5. What was the last movie you watched at home?
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Good movie. :D
6. Would you have paid to watch this film in a movie theater when it originally came out?
Nope. I tend to avoid movies in the theater that have Brad Pitt in them. I usually really, really dislike his movies. This one was good though. He was sufficiently not Brad Pittish. lol
1. What are your favorite shoes?
2. What does your favorite shirt or blouse look like?I have a cute pair of sandals that I like, but the soles have busted. I need to fix them. But, I have a pair of black shoes hat work really well with my inserts, so I wear those all the time. :) (I have Plantar Fasciitis)
3. What does your favorite tee shirt say on it?That's probably this shirt (which you can't see very well in the picture. It has a pattern on it. It mimics an Empire waistline, but it doesn't actually have one. It's cut so it flares out at the bottom edges. It's nice and lightweight and comfy too. Plus, it doesn't have a neckline that plunges into my cleavage...which is SO hard to find these days.):
4. Do you think you look better in casual or business attire?I only wear tee shirts when I'm doing yard work or sleeping. :) I hate tee shirts.
5. What do you sleep in?Business. But, I don't have too much casual stuff. I'm not much for jeans and tee shirts. I wear skirts and scarves and stuff all the time.
6. Do you wear expensive sneakers?depends. I have a few nightgowns that I wear. Sometimes just a tee shirt or a tank top. Sometimes (rarely), I'll wear a full pants and top PJ set...but I get way too hot for that. It's got to be about 30 degrees below zero for me to wear a full pants PJ set. :)
7. What is your favorite hat?I don't even own a pair of sneakers anymore. The last pair I had kicked the bucket. lol That was years ago.
8. Your preference for men: Boxers or briefs?I have lots of hats. :) I guess I'd pick my brown suede leather floppy hat. It looks like this, only my hat has a dark brown ribbon around it:
9. Your preference for women: Suits or dresses?I honestly have no idea. I guess it wouldn't matter. :)
I think ladies look nice in either one. I rather like skirts and dresses myself, but I do like some pantsuits.

We are talking about jobs today. Pick any job of your career. Tell us when and where it was. Then answer today's Saturday: 9.
1. Tell us which job your are telling us about, and when you had it.
2. Where do/did you work?I will talk about my Graduate Assistant job in the reference department at the graduate school I attended. It was from 2005-2007.
3. Tell us about that boss.I worked in the reference department of a large university library...the main campus of 7, and the biggest library of the 7 on the main campus. I was a graduate assistant. I worked at the reference desk, assisting students, faculty, staff and community members and I also did projects for the reference librarians.
4. Do/Did you find your work creative? If yes how?I had two. First was a manager, who was a reference librarian. He was lots of fun and a great person. He was very fair and thoughtful and always listened to the students and other librarians. There was also the main boss, who was the head of Reference Services. He was a fun guy too. Friendly and liked to have a good conversation. He was also very fair and thoughtful. He liked bikes a lot. :D I had good bosses and co-workers. :)
5. Tell us about your favorite co-worker.Oh yes. I learned something new everyday, usually more than one thing. In reference service, you are constantly helping people find information and understand information. Many times, the question wasn't a topic that I was familiar with, so I ended up learning about the topic. I also got to participate in lots of projects and I was able to do some teaching in classes, training, and tours for undergraduates. It was fun. :)
6. Tell us about the biggest jerk in that job.Oh man, I'm not sure I could pick a favorite co-worker! I liked everyone! :) I worked with someone different every hour of every day, so I got time with each person. Everyone had different personalities and so the dynamic at the desk was always different, which was enjoyable.
7. Where do/did you see yourself with this job in five years?Seriously, we really didn't have a 'jerk' in our department! Everyone was awesome. We were a really good team and everyone got along really well. :D We had some regular patrons that were less than stellar, but they were fleeting. We only encountered them occasionally.
8. Tell us about your commute.Well, that was a 'temp' position, since it was a graduate position that I could only hold while I was a student. When I graduated, I could not work there anymore. I would love have a full-time job there, someday. It's a great place to work. :)
9. What hours of the day do/did you work?I lived just off-campus. It took me about 15 minutes or so to walk the distance to the library. Some days I would drive (no late night walking all alone for me! lol), take the bus system (which hardly ever ran the hours I needed it), or I would walk. It was a quick commute. :)
All of them. lol Our schedules were built around our classes, since we were graduate students. Usually we worked in 2-3 hour shifts. Sometimes only 1 hour, sometimes a full 8 hour shift. I worked a lot of 4 hour shifts. We always worked one night (5-10pm) a week and a bunch of Saturdays a semester, but mostly, our hours were within 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday.
